I’m here to teach you the trade secrets and techniques that elevate your sewing ability, enabling you to create beautiful garments that are crafted to stand the test of time, and that make you look and feel beautiful and confident.
It’s not about the sort of uninspiring dressmaking you learnt (or if you’re like me, perhaps tried to avoid it at school!) And it’s also not something that defines your size or shape either. It’s enabling you to create garments that become much-loved modern heirlooms that you’ll treasure for decades to come.
Whether you’re an absolute beginner, or an experienced dressmaker or fashion graduate looking to develop advanced couture skills you’ll have my undivided attention. Sessions can be tailored to make good use of time by spending more time on things that you find challenging (and we’ll skip over things that you are already excellent at. )
I’ll unravel and demystify dressmaking for you so you don’t feel overwhelmed. Once upon a time, before I developed my own sewing methods, I used to have several abandoned sewing projects, half-finished disasters buried in the bottom of my wardrobe! I remember well the pain and frustration of those days. Now, I know… it doesn’t have to be like that!
What can I do in a one-to-one session?
Perhaps a refresher on how your sewing machine works and how to get the best functionality out of it?
Or have you bought a new machine and want to explore what it can do?
Why not get 1:1 attention to master a particular sewing skill, or start or finish a specific project?
This could be anything from learning to sew a beginner project to help with a couture gown.
Would you like to be measured correctly and receive advice on what size pattern you should use and how to alter commercial patterns to fit perfectly?
Are you in the middle of making and in the need of an expert eye to help you ensure that it fits perfectly?
So often it’s the fit of a garment that frustrates the home dressmaker, and wouldn’t it be wonderful to understand how to get this right, every time!
