In this full-day workshop, you’ll learn how to make your own silk flower from scratch using specialist tools, then build it into a stunning fascinator by adding vintage nets, beads, feathers, crystals and pretty trimmings. A calm and creative class, perfect for winter weddings, parties and special occasions, or simply because you love making beautiful things.

You’ll learn:

How to choose suitable fabric for flower-making

  • How to stabilise the edges of petals so that they don’t fray

  • How to shape, curl and construct petals using heated tools

  • How to wire stamens

  • How to add netting, beads and trims

  • How to assemble and then secure your flower to a fascinator base

  • Hand-stitching techniques to give a professional finish.

You’ll leave at the end of the workshop with a beautifully finished silk flower fascinator and a folder of notes to help you continue your millinery journey.

A large white fabric flower on a dark wooden surface, a pair of gold scissors, pins with white and pearl-colored heads, a spool of white thread, a pearl necklace, and small decorative mesh pieces.
